As you are aware, we have recently changed the CIAP passwords. Thank you for your assistance in this process.
We have received considerable interest from non-NSW Public Health employees for the new passwords, which demonstrates that there was significant unauthorised CIAP access occurring. Unfortunately, we are aware that some of the new passwords have already been provided to non-NSW Public Health employees, such as pharmaceutical companies, General Practice organisations, and other unauthorised groups. This has resulted in a number of passwords being changed again.
The contractual obligations for access to CIAP extend only to NSW Public Health employees. This has always been the case and usage is now being closely monitored for breaches. Unauthorised usage significantly impacts on the cost of the CIAP subscription and this is not in the interest of the Area Health Services and other NSW Health organisations that incur the cost of this service.
Please do not provide the passwords over the phone unless you definitely know that the individual works for NSW Public Health.
In such cases, refer the individual to this page and ask them to select the HSS intranet site, which lists all facility passwords. It is located at the first dot point above:
- visit Health Support Services Intranet. Access this site from any NSW Health facility.
If you are unsure of whether an individual is entitled to access CIAP, please refer to the CIAP password list (available on the HSS intranet) or contact the CIAP helpdesk for advice. We are more than happy to help.
