CIAP Renewal 2008 - 2009

HealthTechnology is pleased to announce a continuing partnership with Health Communication Network (HCN), for the supply of CIAP Online subscriptions and services. CIAP resources for 2008 – 2009 have been renewed and all services will continue.

CIAP Representatives and NSW Health Librarians will be provided with advanced notice of any product changes for 2008 – 2009 and changes will be posted on the What’s New @ CIAP as they become available.

The Australian Immunisation Handbook 9th Ed was released on April 8, 2008. To make this resource more accessible to users CIAP have placed a link in the left menu on the CIAP homepage under ‘Other Drug Resources’.

CIAP have placed two new user guides on the User Guide and Tutorials page. They are

• Cochrane Library Quick Reference Guide
• Cochrane Library User Guide

Both of these are valuable resources that contain instructions and many useful hints for users accessing the Cochrane Library.

The yearly licence for the MIMS on PDA software expires on 31st July, 2008. However, to give users time to update their copies of the software, the 2007/08 version will continue to work for 7 days only. This means that if you have the software installed on your PDA and you don’t update it to the version licensed for 2008/09, it will stop working after 7th of August, 2008.

Users of this software will need to download and install the latest version between 31st July and 7th August, 2008. Please ensure that you delete the previous version from your desktop and PDA before downloading the next version.

Note: you will also have to apply for a new registration code by going to the MIMS on PDA Registration page.

Please do not try to install the new version early as it will not be released until after the 31st of July.

The Australian Medicines Handbook is no longer offering a Palm OS version of pAMH due to technical difficulties with the platform. AMH has advised that they are focusing efforts on a new online version for smartphones and similar devices, which will work across a variety of mobile platforms. The new version is planned for release in the second half of 2008. CIAP will provide further information on the new version as it becomes available.
